ASHLAND — Angela Ringler acquired Advantage Marketing, Inc. in 2017, taking over where previous owner Kim Spren left off.
Ringler had worked there since 2010 before purchasing it. She told the audience Tuesday afternoon that Advantage’s ownership came about quietly.
But for the 30th anniversary, she wanted to celebrate.

The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Tuesday to commemorate the milestone.
Advantage Marketing received an award from the city and a proclamation from Secretary of State Frank LaRose and the Chamber of Commerce.
“We are so excited to have you as a young professional who has settled here with your family in Ashland, Ohio,” said Chamber President Amy Daubenspeck.
All about customer service
Amanda Booth, Advantage’s marketing coordinator, has worked there for 17 years. She started working as an intern while attending Ashland University, and she never left the university.
“I’ve always felt at home here,” Booth said.
Even after 17 years, many of the staff members have remained the same. And, she added, her transition from Mr. Spring’s ownership to Mr. Ringler’s ownership was seamless.
Kimberlee Oberholtzer, an Advantage employee for more than 20 years, agreed with Booth. Oberholtzer said the growth the business has seen over the years has been great.
Booth said it all comes back to the importance of community and customer service. The original owner, his Spreng, valued these values highly. Booth said Ringler carries on both traditions.

Ringler said it’s important to her that Advantage’s customer service is strong. She said her business, from pens to promotional clothing, is working hard to compete with big companies.
This means Advantage can continue to support and promote local economies.
“We live here, we shop here, we play here,” Ringler said. “We started our family here, and we’re so excited that the community has supported and supported us for so long.”
