A star-studded guest list, designer dresses galore, and a private Rihanna concert — and it was just for Ambani’s pre-wedding party.

Indian weddings are known as beautiful and luxurious events. Still, Asia’s richest family went all out this weekend for a three-day party celebrating the marriage of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant.

The two are planning to get married in July.

The gala was attended by tech CEOs such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, and 1,200 other guests, and was flown privately to a regional airport in the Indian state of Gujarat. Some guests were jet-packed.

The entire event could have cost millions of dollars. According to reports, it could have cost between $6 million and $9 million just to have Rihanna perform.

The family is also feeding 51,000 people in Gujarat ahead of this weekend’s festival and building 14 temples in Jamnagar city in the run-up to the wedding.

With the pre-wedding so extravagant, it’s hard to imagine the wedding itself topping it, but the marriage of Mukesh Ambani’s younger daughter Isha Ambani to Anand Piramal is a testament to how the event turned out. It has the potential to shed light on what will happen.

The Guardian reported that the Ambani family spent nearly $100 million on the case. Beyoncé performed at her second daughter’s 2018 Mumbai wedding, and guests included Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas and Hillary Clinton.
