Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a sequel to the manga that focuses on one of the eight characters from the original game.
The announcement of the comic sequel to 2023’s best game came in a very low-key fashion last weekend as part of Paranormasight’s one-year anniversary celebration. During the livestream, a still of which can be seen directly below, developers at Paranormasight announced that the upcoming manga will begin after the events of the visual novel game.

The Paranormasight manga primarily focuses on Mio Kurosuzu, who is arguably one of the best main eight characters from the original game. As you may remember, Mio was something of a paranormal expert in her own right, and she had a strong friendship with hot-blooded Yakko Sakazaki. Just in case you haven’t picked up Paranormasight yet, I won’t say any more (I can’t recommend it enough).
In fact, I can’t blame you if you’ve never heard of Paranormasight. Unfortunately, it was released with very little attention and very little marketing from Square Enix. In fact, Square Enix’s own president said earlier this year that after releasing Paranorma Site and a number of other games with basically no fanfare last year, they needed to do a better job of marketing their games from now on. he admitted.
All seven other main characters appear in the Paranormasight manga, but in supporting roles for Mio. Other characters also appear to be returning, including detectives Tetsuo Tsutsumi and Elio Jun, private investigator Richter Kai, and the low-key Shogo Okiya. They seem to be caught up in a new mystery in Tokyo.
It will be interesting to see how the Paranormasight manga adapts to the different endings of the main game. There is a lot The game can end in many different ways, but that’s only part of its charm. At least a few characters can face death at various points during the game, and some endings are only unlocked after seeing alternate endings and story paths.
Unfortunately, it seems that Takanari Ishiyama will not be involved in the sequel to the Paranoma Site manga. This veteran developer is little known in the West, but he oversaw and wrote the entire scenario for Paranormasight. In fact, Mr. Ishiyama is so unknown in the West that when Paranormasight first launched, in an attempt to draw attention to his prolific career, his thread of tweets below went semi-viral.
Square Enix’s Paranormasight may seem like a random Final Fantasy release, but the title actually marks the return of a veteran named Takanari Ishiyama to the ADV genre. ing. Since his background is completely unknown in the West, I thought I’d start a thread about him. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/40Mf2YgxenMarch 9, 2023
We also don’t know if Paranormasight’s manga will be localized into English. As of now, the manga is scheduled to be released in Japan at some point next year, although there’s a good chance it will make its way west, as it will be published by Square Enix, just like the game itself.
