Charisse McGill, founder and founder of French Toast Bites, was a bright and familiar face in the business world, writes Vince Carey. daily time.
The bubbly entrepreneur was at the height of his success when he passed away unexpectedly at his home in Aldan on Monday. She was 42 years old.
McGill’s French Toast Bites began appearing in grocery stores, and her stand appeared at major events in Philadelphia, including the Auto Show, Spruce Street Harbor Park, and the Flower Show.
She founded Lokal Artisan Foods and collaborated with Doylestown Brewing Company to create French Toast Beer.
This summer, she became the new executive director of the Farmers Market Coalition, a national nonprofit organization that represents 9,000 farmers markets.
Mr. McGill began his career in the food industry as market manager at the Lansdale Farmers Market, where he had a successful career selling lemonade.
From there, she opened French Toast Bites in 2018 at the Philadelphia Holiday Market in Dilworth Park.
Over time, her business grew.
“We were able to turn that product into coffee, beer and spice blends,” McGill said while being honored by the Philadelphia 76ers as this year’s Buy Black program recipient.
