The program focuses on supporting children’s equitable access to stable, high-quality child care while enabling working families to maintain or increase their participation in the workforce. Households that meet Child Care Works (CCW) subsidy eligibility requirements for hours worked or educational hours, but are more than 200% but less than 300% of the federal poverty income guidelines (CCW limit), are eligible to participate. can.
The Allegheny County Department of Children’s Initiatives (DCI), in collaboration with the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) Region 5, launched the pilot program in April 2022.
