An ambitious Basildon entrepreneur who runs a business selling rare football memorabilia will try to wow the judges by appearing on Dragon’s Den.
Billy Childs, 27, will appear on Thursday in a special episode of the BBC One show featuring football pundit and former Manchester United star Gary Neville.
During the episode, he will try to convince the panel of judges to invest in his business, BC Boots UK.
Since launching his business in 2021, he has built a huge presence on social media by selling the most unusual soccer memorabilia, including boots and shirts worn by soccer’s biggest stars.

Billy decided to apply for the show in October 2022 to raise the profile of his business, but added that the appearance “opened my eyes to being open to change.”
Billy said: “I’ve definitely grown as a businessman by being so lucky to be on Dragon’s Den.
“Feedback from some of the biggest names in business really opened my eyes to different perspectives on business and made me realize that I am open to change.
“BC Boots specializes in offering collectors a unique opportunity to acquire extremely rare and one-of-a-kind football memorabilia, including match-worn shirts from top players.
“But instead of keeping all the profits, the idea of giving some of the money to charity as well came up and it was a really good idea.
“Given my connection to football, it was very fitting to make my pitch in front of Gary. We can glean insights from some of the icons.”

On Thursdays at 8pm, viewers will discover how Billy connects fans directly to the items worn by their favorite soccer stars, with a focus on authenticity and worldwide accessibility. You’ll hear how it brings you closer to the game than ever before.
BC Boots has quickly gained attention from both collectors and enthusiasts around the world, gaining 158,000 Instagram followers over the past three years.
All items sold, including match-worn boots and shirts, come with a full certificate of authenticity.
Billy’s episode airs on Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One.
