It was a huge heartbreak for Rohit Sharma’s Indian cricket team as they lost to Australia in the final and came close to clinching the 2023 Cricket World Cup trophy. Playing the tournament at home, India won 10 matches on a fast-fire and looked unstoppable. Their unbeaten record includes wins over all other opponents in the tournament, and before the summit showdown, India were seen as favorites to win. During the campaign, star batsman Virat Kohli performed extremely well with 765 runs and emerged as the top batsman in the tournament. As a result, the disappointment was evident on his face as India lost to Australia thanks to Travis Head and Pat Cummins.
In an unreleased video circulating on social media, Kohli can be seen looking depressed after the World Cup final. As the Australian players celebrated their victory on the field, Kohli could not hide his sadness as he walked towards his teammates, even disturbing the stumps with his hat.
Meanwhile, the Indian team is practicing at full strength ahead of the second Test against South Africa.
Virat Kohli participated in an intense practice session. He played against Indian bowlers as well as net bowlers.
After a drought period from 2020 to 2022, India’s star batsman Virat Kohli returned to his usual run-scoring ways with a historic, record-setting and consistent 2023 as a batsman, and has been the best ever since. He broke some big hitting records that were considered untouchable.
