Some Apple employees in San Diego have reportedly been told to relocate to Austin, Texas or risk being fired.
The employees at risk are part of a 121-person team called Data Operations Annotations, which focuses on artificial intelligence projects, improving and advancing Apple’s Siri voice technology.
An Apple spokesperson said: bloomberg This move is a result of the company’s goal to consolidate the San Diego DOA team with other DOA employees in Austin.

“Our US data operations annotation team is converging on our Austin campus, with the majority of the team already based there,” a spokesperson told the outlet. “Everyone currently employed will have the opportunity to continue in their Apple roles in Austin.”
Anonymous sources said employees have until the end of February to make a decision and if they decide not to relocate, they will be fired on April 26 and receive four weeks of severance pay plus an additional week of severance. He says he will be given money. I worked every year.
