WILMINGTON – True Access Capital (TAC), Claymont Renaissance Development Corporation, and New Castle County Government announced that applications for the New Castle County Corridor Revitalization Fund are now open. This fund is intended to assist business owners within New Castle County’s three designated commercial corridors. Eligible applicants can apply for grants of up to $10,000 from this fund to support the revitalization of these areas.
Eligible applicants include small businesses and landlords with operations on or near North Market Street in Wilmington, two sections of Philadelphia Pike, and Route 9/Route 13. Grants will be awarded to support improvements such as facades, landscaping/street improvements, signage, and signage. Other interior and exterior improvements.
“This funding will go a long way in revitalizing these long-standing commercial areas,” Van Hampton, president and CEO, said in a statement. This is consistent with True Access Capital’s goal of helping build and technical services. ”
Four public information sessions are scheduled to explain the program and application process.
- March 20th, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Wilmington Public Library, 3400 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE
- March 21, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Claymont Fire Company, 3223 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE.
- March 27th, 6pm to 8pm, Route 9 Wilmington, 3022 New Castle Ave., New Castle DE.
- March 28, 6-8 p.m., Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, 1006 Brandywine Blvd., Wilmington DE.
The program includes two tiers of grants.
- Micro-grants of up to $5,000 to support interior and exterior improvements.
- Large matching grant providing up to $10,000. Applicants must be matched according to amount. The applicant’s capital match may be in the form of cash or debt. TAC will also consider investments made by the applicant within the past six months to meet the capital match requirement.
Grants will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are currently being accepted and the funding round will end when funds run out. Applications should be submitted to David Ortiz at dortiz@trueaccesscapital.org. Awards will be announced on a rolling basis as applicants are approved.
TAC’s technical assistance services are free to all businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, business training classes/workshops, entrepreneurial coaching/consulting, and networking opportunities.
TAC also makes a full range of financing programs available to all program participants. Small businesses seeking loan funding through TAC must complete TAC’s regular underwriting process.
