WILLISTON, N.D. (KXNET) — If you’re looking to become part of the Williston STAR Fund Advisory Board, you’re in luck. They are looking for new members.
The application deadline is Feb. 23 at 5 p.m., and applications can be emailed or hand-delivered to the Williston Economic Development Office, according to a news release.
The STAR Fund was established in 1991 to provide infrastructure debt relief, job creation, and community development. This program is scheduled to end in June 2030.
Since 2010, the Department of Job Creation and Community Development has supported more than 300 projects.
Governed by a seven-member advisory board, it meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with lunch provided.
The new members will replace Dana Johnson’s term, which expires in June 2024, at which point the new members will have the option to commit to a three-year term.
Preference will be given to candidates with basic general knowledge of finance, small business management, entrepreneurial experience, and business development.
If you think you are an ideal candidate, you can submit a one-page document outlining your reasons for interest and other executive experience.
Please email your application to Brenda Schmidt at brendasc@ci.williston.nd.us or hand-deliver it to:
