MK Contemporary Gallery curators Melissa Kreisa and Rose Sellery are installing “Selection: Rydell Visual Arts Fellows 2006-2021,” an exhibit showcasing the talent cultivated by the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County’s Rydell Visual Arts Fund. The fund will award her $20,000 to selected artists, allowing them to embark on transformational journeys, create new work, and explore fresh artistic avenues. The exhibit at MK Contemporary will highlight the work of 23 past Rydell Prize recipients, in parallel with an exhibit at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History featuring the 2022-2023 Rydell Fellowship recipients. It will be on display until March 24th. The public is invited to visit during opening hours and attend a free event, “Art and Chocolate,” on March 9th from 4pm to 6pm.
