The AVIXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, supports the Foundation’s work focused on developing audiovisual and digital transformation professionals and understanding each other’s overlapping needs. To this end, we announced the creation of the Brad Sousa Impact Fund. The AVIXA Foundation provides access to AV skills education, career paths, and valuable hands-on experience to inspire the next generation of leaders in the audiovisual industry.
Brad Souza passed away on November 8, 2023 in Austin, Texas at the age of 62. Brad was the Chief Technology Officer of AVI Systems and a member of the AVIXA Board of Directors. He was recently elected by AVIXA’s global membership as Secretary-Treasurer, with powers similar to that of Chairman of the Board. In addition, Souza also served on the board of the AVIXA Foundation.
At home and at work, Sousa lived with a love of action and truth, not just words and speeches. He was known for the saying, “Influence is a shocking sham.” He remained committed to making a difference in all of his pursuits, whether personal or professional. With this lesson in mind, the AVIXA Foundation created the Brad Sousa Impact Fund, the organization says.

This is the potential impact of this funding in creating synergies between the world of visual technology and digital transformation.”

The AVIXA Foundation plans to announce details about the Brad Sousa Impact Fund and how to donate later this year, according to a statement.
