The founder of Bangalore-based coffee brand VS Mani & Co has requested the railways to offer South Indian branded snacks on Vande Bharat trains operating in the region.
Entrepreneur GD Prasad, while praising the railways for the Vande Bharat Express train in South India, called for government support to better represent the region’s brand on snack trays.
“We are happy for a world-class Vande Bharat in the South. Please support us by representing more of our region’s brands on our snack trays,” Prasad wrote to Prime Minister X (formerly Twitter). he wrote, tagging Minister of State for Government (PMO), Railways and Union of Railways Ashwini Vaishnau.
“If you have a chance, I would be happy to offer you some filter coffee and some South Indian snacks.”

Prasad shared a photo of a snack tray on board the Vande Bharat Express flight, containing snacks like haldiram peanut brittle, bikaji budjia, girnar masala tea and ketchup sachets.
South India’s first Vande Bharat Express was launched in 2022 between Chennai, Mysuru and Bengaluru.
Bangalore has Vande Bharat Railway services to Dharwad, Belagavi, Hubballi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysuru and Hyderabad.
GD Prasad and co-founders Rahul Bajaj and Yashas Arul appeared on the second season of the upstart reality show Shark Tank India last year. INR$1.9 million for a 1% stake; INR4.1 million debt, interest rate of 10% of appraised value INR1.9 billion yen. One of the judges, Anupam Mittal, was already invested in VS Mani before the founders appeared on the show.
