The longtime AutoZone executive will join the regional board effective March 1, 2024.
Birmingham, Alabama, February 14, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF) announced Wednesday that Bill Rose, former president and CEO of AutoZone, will be joining Regions Financial Corporation. Announced that he has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Financial Corporation and its subsidiary Regions Bank. Mr. Rose’s term on the Regional Board begins March 1, 2024.
Mr. Rose, an experienced business executive, successfully concluded his 18-year term as President and CEO of AutoZone in January and continues to serve as Executive Chairman. Rhodes has been with his AutoZone for a total of 29 years. During Mr. Rose’s tenure as president and CEO, AutoZone nearly doubled the number of auto parts stores, increased the number of employees to approximately 120,000, and increased revenue more than three times as much as under his tenure. We have consistently strengthened our online presence and services.
Prior to being named CEO of AutoZone, Mr. Rhodes held various executive roles at the Memphis-based company, including director of store operations and oversight of supply chain, information technology and finance departments. Mr. Rose began his career with his Ernst & Young.

Rose is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis.
A resident of Memphis for more than 50 years, Mr. Rose is active in the community and serves on several industry and non-profit boards. He currently chairs the Auto Repair Equality Coalition and serves on the boards of the Retail Industry Leaders Association, Youth Programs, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees.
