Foundations in Education Inc. is pleased to announce that applications for the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund will open on February 1, 2024.
The mission of the Episcopal Scholarship Fund is to assist families in obtaining a Catholic education in the diocesan elementary schools of Fairfield County. Families with students entering kindergarten through Grade 8 in fall 2024 are eligible to apply.
For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Bishops Scholarship Fund received 2,448 applications for tuition assistance and awarded more than $3 million in scholarships to 1,351 students. This is a 13% increase over last year. Awards range from $300 to $3,650 per student.
The composition of the 2023-2024 Bishop Scholarship Fund recipients is as follows:
- 54% are raised by a single parent
- 54% qualify for free or reduced lunch
- $61,688 was the average household gross income
“With so many social challenges in our country, there is no better time than now to experience the difference that values-based Catholic schools can make to a child’s education,” said Educator Foundation Executive Director. Holly Doherty-Lemoine commented. “We encourage all families in need of financial support to apply to the Episcopal Scholarship Fund and see the difference a Catholic school can make in their child’s life.”
“We are so grateful for the tuition assistance!” said Lorena Tesville, parent of an Bishops Scholarship Fund recipient. “Without this assistance, we would not have been able to afford to send her daughter to Catholic school. Thank you. Not only is she receiving a first-class education, but she is also developing a close relationship with God.”
Applicants apply online via the FACTS Grant and Aid application and answer all questions regarding the Bishop Scholarship Fund. The application deadline is March 15, 2024 for families with children currently enrolled in diocesan elementary schools, and April 15, 2024 for families newly enrolling in our school.
