In honor of today’s International Women’s Day, we’ve compiled a list of powerful quotes from starship women who have made an impact in our company and beyond. These quotes remind us of the strength, resilience, and wisdom of women throughout history and inspire all of us here at Starship to continue fighting for a more just and equitable world.
Despite significant progress in recent years, women remain underrepresented in the technology and startup industries. According to a World Bank report, less than one-third of the global technology workforce is made up of women, and the number is even lower for women of color. Lack of diversity in the tech and startup industries is a complex problem with multiple causes.
One of the challenges women face in the tech and startup industries is the lack of female role models and mentors. Women often struggle to get support and guidance from other women in this field, which can make it difficult to navigate the industry and build a successful career.
Another challenge is gender bias. Research shows that women are often underrepresented and underrepresented in male-dominated fields such as technology. This bias can manifest itself in many ways, from unequal pay to exclusion from important decision-making processes.
However, many women are breaking through these barriers, fighting back and advocating for greater representation and inclusion within the industry, and making a name for themselves in the world of tech and startups.
Starship’s women from around the world are a perfect example of this. We have collected inspirational quotes from many of them, so let them be your role models and inspirations. Their words remind us that women are strong, resilient, and capable of achieving greatness. So let us take a moment to reflect on their wisdom and courage as we continue to strive for a more just and just world for all.

“I’ve battled impostor syndrome since day one of my career. Dealing with imposter syndrome is sometimes not as easy as having a ‘lady boss mindset.’ I’m seven years into my career and I always have to remind myself that if you walk into a room, you deserve to be in that room. ”
Andrea Martinez De Carolis, US-based Campus Marketing Manager
About recruitment:
“Sometimes in life we find ourselves in a position where only one of these things is true: I like the people I work with, I like my job, I like my compensation. We all deserve to be admired, recognized, and challenged. Finding this balance will take time. But believe me, it’s there. Even if you find yourself searching for the right career trajectory, don’t compromise on yourself. Be clear about your goals, be upfront about your needs, and go after what you want. The job market is constantly changing, but right now, recruiters are waiting to find you. Now is the time. Don’t be afraid to leverage online resources, application platforms, and networks to accelerate your professional development.”
About my goals:
“My ambition is to be known as someone who helps others. My work experience started with serving others in the restaurant industry. I then moved on to assisting them in creating financial solutions. I have also helped owners grow their local businesses. Currently, I assist in recruiting talented people to help grow the business. The position has been in place for several years. Although we have changed over the years, our goal has always been clear: to continue to use our voice to advocate, inspire and support others.”
Gracie Meadows, US Recruiter
Women leaders are often labeled as bossy, difficult, aggressive, meddlesome, and emotional. What that really means is that you are assertive, ask the right questions, and lead with your head and heart. Don’t let others change or deflate you, stay true to yourself, and be open to change and growth. Make brave decisions with patience and de-prioritize people-pleasing.
Teele Kruzman, Head of Services and Deployment, Estonia
“Diversity of thought and experience leads to breakthrough ideas. No one ever said there was only one way to eat peanut butter. The best part about this delicious spread is that you can make it yourself.” The technology industry is no different. Innovative women have inspired me from an early age. When you can do the same with a power screwdriver or peanut butter, join me.
Sara Gutierrez, robotics engineer based in the United States
“There is never a dull day at Starship! Being part of such an innovative company working on projects that have never been done before in the world means that all of our employees are growing and learning every day. As a result, many of our employees truly enjoy their work, and as a result, they are incredibly supportive of each other.
While there are certainly moments when things get difficult, such as when you’re working on multiple releases on top of your day-to-day duties (and we’ve had them lately!), we’re constantly improving our processes and making sure our customers are happy. doing. It’s worth it when a new city loves robot delivery!!”
Arianna Namaki, UK-based City Marketing
“Yes, you can” is my girl power mantra. When things and life get tough, this mantra pushes me to break through the glass ceiling and live my truth. ”
Quyen Huynh, US Human Resources Manager
“I grew up in Mexico for several years. I never knew how difficult it was to be a woman and live in fear every day, nor how difficult it was to get promoted because I was a woman. I hope we have the same rights. We deserve the same opportunities and respect.”
Elda Velazquez, Service Team Leader in the United States
