LAUDERDALE Co., Ala. (WAFF) – A high-speed internet company stopped by Lauderdale County Schools’ Career Technical Center to show students possible career paths and celebrate new accomplishments.
The Allen Thorton Career Technical Center gathered electrical students to watch a presentation on how Spectrum cuts wire.
Students said it gave them a peak into what could be possible for them in the future.
“I wasn’t going to come in with no experience, especially when they mentioned the training program,” said Edwin Howard. “And that video featured a guy with one year of experience, and he got help from guys with 30 years of experience. If you choose to do that as an option, we want you to feel more comfortable.” became.”
Howard and other students said they enjoyed being shown several different career paths by the Career Technical Center.
“So it definitely shows there are more jobs out there,” Peyton Ables said. “There’s definitely more to do than focus on one thing. If that doesn’t work, there’s a backup plan.”
Spectrum also announced that it has brought high-speed internet to approximately 6,800 homes and businesses in rural Lauderdale County through a state grant.
