The C. Fay Tillery Foundation continues to offer scholarship opportunities

C. Faye Tillery’s family continues their mission to honor her life by helping young people. The 11th annual C. Fay Tillery Youth Volunteer Scholarship, presented by the C. Fay Tillery Foundation, is currently available to Suffolk students who volunteer daily in their community.
Tillery, a former Suffolk Parks and Recreation employee, worked to inspire young people to be their best until her death in 1998 after a battle with cervical cancer. Tillery’s family will support young people through C. Faye Tillery’s Christmas adoption, back-to-school gifts, and scholarship luncheon scheduled for April 6 at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront. I am continuing her legacy by giving back to the.
To apply, students must fill out a scholarship application (online or printed), include a one-page essay detailing why they are a scholarship candidate, and include a personal recommendation from a teacher, pastor, barber, etc. must have a status. Similarly, students will participate in in-person interviews and share their volunteer work with the C. Fay Tillery Scholarship Fund Committee. Students who can apply for the scholarship must be between the ages of 8 and 18.
