The Certified Alternative Investment Analysts Association announced that Dan Bienvenue, interim chief investment officer for the California Public Employees Retirement System, has begun a three-year term on the CAIA Board of Directors.

Valerie Cill, CFA, Chair of the CAIA Board of Directors and President and CEO of DuPont Capital Management, said in a press release: . “Being able to leverage his CIO insights and experience as one of the world’s largest allocators further positions us to continue shaping the industry on behalf of our investors.”
Bienvenue has served as CalPERS’ interim CIO since Nicole Musico resigned last September. He has been with CalPERS for 20 years, most recently serving as Deputy CIO and previously as Managing Investment Director of Global Equities. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis and holds both the CFA and his CAIA certifications.
