Following International Women’s Day, the nonprofit organization SCORE Indianapolis aims to provide inspiration and networking for women entrepreneurs as part of the chapter’s first-ever Women’s Day Entrepreneur Brunch.
The three-hour event, set for March 9, the day after International Women’s Day, will focus on themes such as overcoming obstacles, building connections and networks, and pricing products and services appropriately. A discussion will be held by management.
The speakers are:

Jennifer Weese of BeeFree Gluten-Free Bakery started her business in 2010 to support gluten-free diets after her son was diagnosed with autism. Her gluten-free snacks are sold at most major retailers, including Kroger, Whole Foods, Meijer, and Target.

Michelle Shelburne founded Sanctuary Indy several years ago in response to the lack of adequate housing options for chronically homeless people in Indianapolis.

Geneva Taylor is the owner of Tellis Executive Search, a search consulting firm focused on leadership and contract staffing roles.
After the presentation, the speakers will participate in a panel discussion and answer questions from the audience.

“Women tell their stories while highlighting common struggles that other women entrepreneurs may face,” says Carmel resident, SCORE Indianapolis leader and women’s event organizer. said Tricia Blais.
This event, a collaboration between SCORE, Ivy Tech, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, focuses on women business owners who have been in business for six months or more.
With more than one-third of small businesses started in Indiana being owned by women, Blais thought it made sense to provide support to women as they continue on their entrepreneurial journeys.
As part of the partnership with Ivy Tech, students from the Galatoni School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation are also invited to participate.
“These are the entrepreneurs of our future,” Blais said.
This event is funded by the Leicester Muriel Eadie Frazier Women’s Entrepreneurship Fund. Brace said if successful, the chapter would like to hold the event twice a year, in the spring and fall.
Brunch will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ivy Tech Fall Creek Campus, Room IFC 101, 50 W. Fall Creek Pkwy. Dr. N. cost $20. To learn more or register, visit score.org/indianapolis/event/womens-day-entrepreneur-brunch.
