On Saturday, January 6th, families around the world ended the Christmas season. Celebrations known as the Day of the Three Kings (DĂa de los Reyes), Little Christmas, and the Feast of the Epiphany were held.
In Oakland, Peralta Hacienda Historical Park’s annual fiesta featured live music, traditional holiday cake Rosca de Reyes (Three Kings Bread), and Mexican hot chocolate. The children made and decorated crowns and were also given free toys.
In San Jose, the Children’s Discovery Museum held its 25th annual event. Activities for children included making and decorating crowns. The trio played the role of his three kings, visiting guests and handing out gifts of chocolate and his coins.
In Venezuela, there was a traditional go-kart race known as carrucha. In the Bronx, children lined up to receive gifts of toys and clothing. In Lithuania, people paraded through the streets. In Hartford, Connecticut, celebrants dressed as the Three Wise Men riding camels also joined the procession.
