Chelsea entrepreneur Jason Povrich, known for ventures such as Jets Pizza and The Grateful Crow, recently expanded his business portfolio with the launch of Warriors Management and Chelsea Catering. Mr. Povrich shares his journey from selling things at flea markets and garage sales as a child to becoming a respected business owner and how it sums up his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to community development. He told me what he was doing.
Povlich’s first big success story was Jets Pizza in Chelsea, which opened in 2007. Starting with a $7-an-hour job at Jet’s Pizza, he rose through the ranks and expanded his career to own four of his own Jet’s Pizza locations. Jet’s Pizza is his only full-service restaurant here in Chelsea. His ambition didn’t stop there, he later entered the music industry with Rumpus His Room and engaged in humanitarian work through the non-profit organization Project 418 in Haiti where he established three orphanages.

Photo: Chuck Colby.Povlić explains: “I didn’t want to go into business just for the money. It’s because, first and foremost, I love doing business. Second, I love creating jobs and opportunities. This spirit is reflected in his work, including the opening of Clocktower Comics and The Grateful Crow, a fusion burger and sushi bar that opened during the economically challenging COVID-19 pandemic. This is evident in the continued expansion of the family business.
Povlich’s entrepreneurial journey has centered around Warriors Management. Warriors Management is an in-house management company originally established for his business collection that is now open to the public.
“I started realizing that I couldn’t do everything myself,” Jason says. “I hired a CFO and now he’s a partner. I promoted a guy to chief operating officer and now he’s a partner. I have a multimedia director. And then there’s the Swiss Army knife. There’s another gentleman like that. He can do anything. So we formed a management company.”
Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, Mr. Povrich learned the intricacies of corporate structures and realized the potential to extend these services to other businesses. “We got so good at running the company that we realized we could do it for other people, too,” explains Povlich. Warriors Management offers a wide range of services from complete business management to specific needs such as website development, financial services, social media management, photography, consulting, and more. Jason explains that his management company can provide “everything about your business from A to Z.”
In parallel, Povrich started Chelsea Catering, an offshoot of Grateful Crow. He explains how his two restaurants have become “fixed” in customers’ minds when it comes to food service. “If you want sushi, you call Grateful Crow. If you want pizza, you call Jets,” Jason explains. “But what most people don’t realize is that we can do anything. That’s why we started Chelsea Catering.”
With an additional kitchen installed to enhance our catering services, Chelsea Catering specializes in custom services. This restaurant does not have a menu. Jason explains that they can offer barbecue, Mediterranean cuisine, ethnic cuisine, all sides of prime rib, and basically anything you can imagine for a small business luncheon or a meal for hundreds of people.
“Tell us your needs and your budget and we’ll figure it out,” he explains.
Despite being the head of his own company, Mr. Povlich is quick to deflect credit from his business’s success. “If I wasn’t with a group of great, hardcore people like the people on my team, I’d be delivering newspapers,” he says. “You can’t do it without the team.”
