After a lengthy discussion and close vote, the City of Hopkinsville will move forward with renovations to the Bluegrass Splash Family Aquatic Center. Many questions and information were shared during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
Water park maintenance costs were originally included in the city budget amendment along with other funds, but 2nd Ward Councilman Chuck Crabtree moved to separate them.

Click to download audio The City Council voted 6-5 with Natasha Sophia Francis abstaining. Crabtree, Wilcox, Jamie Lienberger, Jason Bell and Matthew Handy voted against it.
In other business, the City Council approved a second reading of the Canton Pike and Major Lane zoning and residential zoning ordinance for six properties on Pyle Lane, across from Food Lion and United Southern Bank. requested the drafting of The City Council also approved the transfer of funds for the purchase of new police cruisers.
