Business leaders group Identity Clark County has elected Derrick Smith to its board of directors.
Mr. Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of MacKay Sposito, a 50-year-old engineering firm headquartered in Vancouver and providing professional services in eight states. He joined the company’s Tri-Cities operations as vice president in 2005, and in 2019 he became CEO after his 10 years of experience in project management, engineering and construction services. Smith earned his MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and Brigham, where he earned a degree in civil engineering from Young University. He has supporters in the Boy Scouts of America and his church community.
The City of Vancouver recently announced the appointment of Steve Walley as Director of Public Works.
Worley joins Vancouver from Pasco, where he has led the public works division since 2018. A qualified professional engineer, Mr. Wally has extensive experience in Washington and is recognized for his forward thinking and creativity in the delivery of essential public services.
“We welcome Steve’s leadership in public works at the beginning of the new year. He brings an innovative approach to project and program management and is a collaborative leader who will lead our talented public works team. They brought style,” said Vancouver City Manager Eric Holmes.
The City of Vancouver’s Department of Public Works has approximately 370 full-time employees whose responsibilities include roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, solid waste, and urban forestry.
Laurus Wealth Management recently added Robert Stewart as a senior financial advisor. Stewart brings 21 years of experience to the firm, with professional positions including Certified Wealth Management Advisor and Certified Retirement Planning Counselor.
