INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Colts’ football season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the impact the players have had on the Indianapolis community has stopped.
On Monday, a number of Colts players, including quarterback Anthony Richardson, offensive lineman Quentin Nelson, cornerback Kenny Moore II, defensive tackle Glover Stewart and defensive end Tiquan Lewis, committed to the Greater Donated $50,000 to the Indianapolis Domestic Violence Network. The funding will go toward new training for Marion County law enforcement related to domestic violence, particularly in the Black community.
“Domestic violence is also an issue that has a devastating impact on Black communities, yet few resources or training exist to address this scourge in a way that adequately supports and serves Black survivors,” Moore said. . “By partnering with first responders and other law enforcement agencies, we will shine a light on this issue in underserved communities and help more survivors and families get the care they deserve and need.” We want to help them find support.”
The donation comes from the Players Action Fund, an organization organized by Colts players for social justice initiatives in and around the Indianapolis area.
Part of the training includes education on “cultural differences and power dynamics, intergenerational trauma, how to respond to domestic violence, and culturally specific victim referral resources,” according to a Colts news release. It is said that

According to the Colts, this will be one of the first training programs of its kind in the United States.
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence says the Black community experiences more domestic violence than any other group. According to the coalition, more than 45 percent of black women and 40 percent of black men have experienced domestic violence.
