Destination Door County Community Investment Fund received an Innovation Award at the Wisconsin Tourism Governors Conference held March 12 in Lake Geneva.
The Innovation Award is given to a company or community that has demonstrated outstanding initiative through the implementation of new strategies that have a positive impact on their organization or destination.
The Destination Door County (DDC) initiative uses lodging taxes generated from overnight visitors to Door County to improve the quality of life for residents and workers while enriching the visitor experience. We provide funding for projects aimed at.

The honor reflects the dedication and creativity of our team and our continued efforts to improve the visitor experience while supporting our local community.”
Eligible Community Investment Fund applicants include Door County-based 501(c)(3) public charities, 501(c)(6) organizations, and local governments. Since its creation in 2023, the Community Investment Fund has awarded $1,204,952 to 24 different projects across the peninsula.
