Disney Lorcana announces World Championship

Game publisher Ravensberger has announced new details about upcoming competitive events for the popular Disney Lorcana trading card game, including the first-ever World Championship in 2025.

“As we look to 2024, we are continuing to grow our business through new discoveries for collectors, organized play and competitive events for players, and new products to help novice fans take their first steps into trading card games. We continue to support our growing and diverse community,” Ravensbuger’s Global said. Game Director Philip Franke said in a press release. “We’re just getting started, but consumer feedback and industry data support our belief that this game will be around for a very long time.”

Lorcana launched in September 2023 with a hobby store program, but no official competitive events. The highly anticipated competitive circuit will begin in North America and Europe in May 2024. A regional level tournament called the Disney Lorcana Challenge will be held where the top four finishers will each earn an invitation to the North American or European Championships. The North American and European Championships will be held in his fourth quarter of 2024. The top players from these championships will earn an invitation to the 2025 World Championship. The Disney Lorcana World Championship is invitation-only, but there will be large-scale competitions that other players can participate in. Event.

Ravensberger promised to announce details of the event, including dates and prizes, in March 2024.

In the meantime, there will be a new competitive event for the local scene called Set Championship. The first of these is Into the Inklands Championship, named after the next set that will be released in February. These organized play events are hosted by local hobby stores, and the first place prize is a new Enchanted Stitch – Rock Star promo card, with first and second place players also featuring a Stitch – Rock Star A playmat will be awarded (both prizes are shown below). In other Lorcana news, the company announced a new product, the Disney Lorcana TCG Gateway, designed to teach beginners the game. This is a two-player game in which both players start with a basic 30-card deck of his and then gradually add different cards until a complete 60-card deck of his is completed.
