Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Dakota News Now) – Dakota State University’s fourth annual Entrepreneurship Day was moved to Sioux Falls due to scheduling conflicts, but the new venue was a natural choice for organizers.
The Entrepreneur Day event was held on Friday, March 22nd at Startup Sioux Falls.

This year’s event began with a luncheon where several speakers provided industry expertise, business advice, and more. These guests included Jodi Schwan, owner of Align Content Studio and SiouxFalls.Business; Blake Thompson, co-founder, co-CEO, and brewmaster of Fernson Brewing Company. Alyssa Nolte is an entrepreneur and the driving force behind Oology, a research and consulting firm that helps the world’s largest companies understand and turn customer data into action.
In addition to speakers and networking opportunities, three students competed in a business plan pitch competition.
One student from DSU and two students from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSMT) were selected as finalists. DSU student Garret Leiseth pitched his own business, his Trojan AI Integration Consulting. Dean Stetson of SDSM&T promoted his own business, his Generations 343 Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Hosein Mirazi, also of his SDSM&T, promoted his own business, his Swifthumanity Rescue.
