AgSouth Farm Credit is proud to welcome 13 participants to the 2023 AgBiz program. Many recently attended his AgBiz conference in Raleigh, North Carolina as the culmination of the program.
Farmers looking to develop their financial skills for farming can apply to join Farm Credit University AgBiz’s two-part program. He has two separate online e-learning courses (AgBiz Planner and AgBiz Basics) designed for farmers at different stages of their careers. The program concludes with his two-day in-person conference for networking and education, held recently in Raleigh, North Carolina. This conference is co-hosted with AgSouth Farm Credit, AgCarolina Farm Credit, Colonial Farm Credit, and Farm Credit of the Virginias.
The course will be taught by Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus Dr. David Cole, an expert in agricultural finance and business management. This program teaches young, novice, small, veteran, and/or minority farmers new business skills to successfully manage and grow their farming operations.

AgBiz basic course:

- Jessica Hulse – Elgin, South Carolina
- Daphne Jensen – Stony Point, North Carolina
- Carrie Johnson – Branchville, North Carolina
- Adrian Watkins Mingo – Charlotte, North Carolina
- Quinton Whitener – Carlisle, South Carolina
In addition to the online course, participants developed a mentoring relationship with an AgSouth Farm credit loan officer. Mentors answered questions throughout the program and attended conferences to further strengthen relationships.
