A fund has been established and funeral arrangements have been announced for the George County Sheriff’s Deputy killed on January 4th.
Deputy Jeremy Malone was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Route 98 near Brushy Creek Road around 5:15 p.m.
Fund for fallen officers
The South Mississippi Planning and Development District (SMPDD) is accepting donations for Malone.
Those wishing to donate to the family can mail or hand-deliver donations to the office at 10441 Corporate Drive, Suite 1, Gulfport, MS 39503. Checks are payable to the Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District. Please designate the Corrupt Officers Fund in the memo line of your check.
Additionally, SMPDD has a bank account at a community bank to receive donations for fallen officers. The name of the bank account is “Southern Mississippi Project Fallen Officers Fund.” Donations can be made at any Community Bank branch.

funeral arrangements
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 11th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Agricola Baptist Church Funeral services will be held in the church sanctuary on Friday, January 12th from 11:00 AM Burial will be Miss Pallbearer. Fellow officers from the George County Sheriff’s Department will be included at Tanner’s Cemetery in Harleston.
