TOPEKA – Gov. Laura Kelly announced Friday that Honeywell will invest $84 million to expand its aerospace manufacturing facility in Olathe, creating 156 new jobs. The project is expected to generate approximately $47 million in gross domestic product (GDP) in its first six years and contribute $18.3 million in state and local taxes.
This expansion creates one of Honeywell’s most technologically advanced aerospace manufacturing facilities. The 560,000 square foot facility currently manufactures components for Honeywell’s avionics, safety and flight control systems, complex high frequency systems for traffic collision avoidance, radar altimeters and weather radars.
“Honeywell’s expanded presence in Kansas confirms what we’ve known for a long time: Our state’s employees are ready to meet any challenge,” said Governor Laura Kelly. Told. “The creation of high-tech jobs and opportunities will allow even more young workers to find their dream careers right here in Kansas.”

Annual operations of the newly expanded facility will generate continued economic benefits, including supporting more than 200 jobs in other sectors of Kansas’ economy. Additionally, the Olathe manufacturing facility will generate economic benefits during the construction period and subsequent operations of the expanded facility. The construction and installation of new equipment at the facility will generate temporary, one-time economic benefits, including supporting 268 one-year jobs in Kansas and generating approximately $25 million in GDP.

Honeywell Aerospace Technologies’ products and services are installed on virtually every commercial, defense and space aircraft. The Aerospace Technologies business unit manufactures aircraft engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, wireless connectivity systems, and mechanical components.
