Wilson Sporting Goods and the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) provided a grant to Dallas County High School to help purchase new equipment for the school’s volleyball team.
A brand new volleyball cart, travel bag and 12 brand new game balls were donated to Dallas County volleyball organizations. Head coach David Hobson said he is grateful for the $1,000 grant and the opportunity to open up new facilities to the team.
“When I took over as head volleyball coach, I knew I needed to update,” Hobson said. “Our game balls cost between $60 and $75 each, and we have to have two for each game each year. We also needed an updated ball cart. We are currently using brand new folding balls. Complete with a formula ball cart, travel bag for away games, and 12 brand new Wilson K1 Gold game balls.
“This means we can go to away games and figure out our equipment. We have a great cart that we can use for home games and can take to away games, and we will be using it for at least the next six seasons. We have match balls available.”
Hobson said donations like this go a long way toward building a great volleyball program.
“It may seem like a small thing, but the little things you do now will help you accomplish big things later,” Hobson said.
