Employers across Tampa Bay have emerged from the pandemic and hybrid remote work models, but face record inflation and additional obstacles heading into 2024.

But one challenge many companies are choosing to tackle is artificial intelligence.

This new technology helps streamline work, making the process smoother for some and providing more opportunities for others. While still very new, AI is making inroads into every industry, from marketing to manufacturing.

Let’s take a closer look at this new-age trend and other themes that will impact how the top workplaces work in 2024. Each year, the Tampa Bay Times surveys employers in the region to create an annual ranking of many companies to understand what it’s like to work in different industries.

More than 100,000 employees in the region agreed to participate in the evaluation of their businesses. To determine the top 100, we surveyed 208 companies. In 2024, 27 companies made the list for the first time. Eight employers have made the list each year since we began the survey.

For the past 15 years, The Times has been conducting the “Top Workplaces” survey. The Times will partner with Energy as a research partner on this project.

These employees work for highly regarded nonprofit organizations, government agencies, small businesses, and large corporations. They were keen to share their experiences with us.

Workers expressed gratitude and loyalty to employers who made them feel valued.

“DITEK believes that our employees are at the heart of our business and is committed to fostering a culture that values diversity and encourages employees to reach their full potential.” Largo said Robert McIntyre, founder of DITEK Corp., an electrical equipment business based in . . “Our continued success is due to the hard work, perseverance and dedication of our employees.”

Teamwork was the top trend in our findings.

“Imagine a place where insurance is exciting. That’s American Integrity Insurance,” said Carrie Southern, assistant vice president of human resources at Tampa-based American Integrity Insurance. “From charity events to company picnics, our employees put an ‘A’ and an ‘I’ in family. Working hard and having fun is in our genes. ”

And proactively taking employee feedback into account has emerged as a new trend this year.

“Employees were engaged through surveys and focus groups, and their input was incorporated into our new strategic plan, Destination 2027,” said executive vice president of Wade Trim, an employee-owned engineering firm with a campus in Tampa. President Thomas Brzezinski said. “Destination 2027 will propel Wade Trim to new heights and guide decision-making over the next five years through future economic, technological, environmental, social and political changes.”

So let’s discuss some of the top 100 workplaces in Tampa Bay for 2024.
