Peninsula Home Fund donors don’t quit just because the holidays are over. By January 3, donations had reached $120,346.75.

Olympic Community Action Program (OlyCAP) caseworkers use Peninsula Home Fund funds to provide food, childcare, clothing, and other necessities to help North Olympic Peninsula neighbors in need. I am purchasing vouchers such as.
It is often combined with other funds to help those in need, from Port Townsend to Forks, from Quilcene and Brinnon to Sequim, Joyce and La Push.
Giving to the Home Fund means neighbors helping neighbors. The money will be used to provide “a show of hands, not a stipend” to people living in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
Donations are made for unexpected and emergency expenses that don’t necessarily fit into a category. It helps bridge the gap between decline and decline for those who are able to survive this month and then remain productive members of society.
Donation needs range from gasoline to get to work, school, and medical facilities. Rent or utilities. Food, clothing, and other shortages.
The donation campaign begins on Thanksgiving and continues through the holiday season, but many people donate year-round.
All contributions are federally tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law for the year the check is drawn.
Donors can donate by mailing a check to Peninsula Home Fund along with the coupon attached to this article.
You can donate online using your credit card by clicking on the “Peninsula Housing Fund” button on the Peninsula dailynews.com home page. (Scroll down quite a bit). Donations can also be made to the Peninsula Home Fund account at any First Fed branch.
Donors will be listed in updates published in the Peninsula Daily News during the campaign period, which ends in January. Gifts can be listed anonymously, by name only, by name and amount, or in honor of or in memory of another person.
The only money taken from the fund so far is 10% to support OlyCAP’s administrative costs. The rest is for those in need.

Every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference. It provides a safety net for residents of the peninsula when there is nowhere else to turn.
