Despite prior predictions from the cruise line’s president and CEO, Michael Bailey, World Cruises is not yet fully booked.
When it was first announced, you could book a nine-month itinerary divided into four-month segments. The first projects are already underway. On Monday, a reservations representative told Business Insider that the second reservation is already sold out.
However, itineraries in the third and fourth segments, “The Ultimate Middle East and Mediterranean” and “The Ultimate Europe and Beyond,” remain available for booking. Both are 63 nights.
Later in the itinerary, there will be several grand suites, interior cabins, ocean view cabins, and balcony cabins, according to a representative. The most expensive owner’s suite is also on the market. (Royal Caribbean did not respond to Business Insider’s request for confirmation on this matter.)
Still, it won’t be cheap. The least expensive interior staterooms in the fourth segment start at more than $16,850 per person, a representative told his Business Insider. That breaks down to about $270 per day for a windowless cabin, a price comparable to better cabins on premium cruise ships.
If a few months at sea still seems too long, you can also take shorter legs of an Ultimate World Cruise from 9 to 29 nights, starting from $1,760 per person.
In addition to Royal Caribbean, other operators such as Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Azamara offer world cruises, but they are more expensive and much shorter.
