Jacksonville, Florida – Hundreds of people immersed themselves in cultures from around the world at the City of Jacksonville’s 32nd World National Celebration this weekend.
According to event organizers, the festival’s purpose is to highlight the world’s diverse cultures that make Jacksonville special.
On Saturday, News4JAX visited Tailgator’s Park on Talleyrand Street and spoke with some of the participants who had the chance to experience different cuisines and traditions from around the world.
“It’s great to try different cultures, try different things, and get a little taste of everything,” festival attendee Madison said.
Several countries participated in the event, including Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, India, Spain, Philippines, Mexico, and the United States.
The festival will also feature live entertainment with traditional performances from participating countries on the main stage.
In addition, each country will have its own booth, offering interactive exhibits, traditional crafts, and other insights into a particular country’s heritage.
