INDIANAPOLIS — Area hospitals are celebrating their first births of 2024 at their locations.
Ismael Casillas Caldera was born at 1:22 a.m. at Community South Hospital. This adorable boy weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Mom and dad Dora Caldera and Adrian Casillas are looking forward to bringing their baby boy to their south side home.
Dora says Ismael is here with her fifth baby and the biggest she’s ever delivered. Both are fine.
Franciscan Health
June Miller was born at 2:33 a.m. at Indianapolis Francisco Hospital in Florence.
Florence, the daughter of Ella and Josh Miller of Columbus, Indiana, weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces.
“My due date was January 30th, so I never expected this to happen,” Ella Miller said. “It was a complete surprise.”
Mr. and Mrs. Miller were in town from Columbus for a wedding.
Florence was named after Ella’s great-grandmother. She has an older brother named Everett.
The parents of the first baby born on New Year’s Day at Franciscan Health Indianapolis will receive a gift basket containing a variety of items for the child.

Ascension St. Vincent delivered its first baby of the year at 12:01 a.m. at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.
Baby Olivia Brown weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
Her parents, Andrew and Brooke Brown, are from Westfield and said they were thrilled to have her here.
Babies Kali Gambe and Alison Camila Lama Machado were born within minutes of each other this morning at St. Vincent and Women’s Hospital.
Gambe was born first and weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces.
Machado followed her with 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

Eskenazi Health delivered her first child at 4 a.m. at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.
Audensley Orillas came into the world weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces. It measured 18.9 inches.
Community Hospital North
Welcome to the world, baby, Jimmy Jett.
Baby Jimmy was born at 6 a.m. at Community Hospital North.
He is the first child of Tanaya and Jimmy Jett of Greenfield. He was named after his father.
Jimmy weighs 6 pounds, 9.9 ounces and is almost 21 inches long.
riley hospital
Riley Hospital welcomed first child of 2024 at 1 a.m. Pendleton parents Kathy and Morgan Denny have welcomed a baby boy, Easton.
Easton is 6 pounds, 5 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. He is the first child in the Denny family.
