Jacksonville entrepreneur announces reopening of credit repair office amid fraud lawsuit

Jacksonville, Florida – A local entrepreneur accused of defrauding customers with misleading investment opportunities is reopening a credit repair office on Jacksonville’s South Side.

Janae White made the announcement on social media this week. She also posted an apology video asking for forgiveness from the community while facing multiple fraud lawsuits.

“I just wanted to come out here and apologize to everyone who saw this,” White said in the video.

White called his actions “indecent” and apologized to his Facebook followers for a video he posted in 2023 in which he said, “Guys, you’re not getting your money back.”

“To those I hurt, to those who thought I was wrong, I’m not condoning being ridiculed, I’m not condoning making mistakes. Human beings,” White said in the video.

After apologizing, White promoted her new credit shop and asked her followers to pay “upfront” for repair services.

It’s been three months since her client came forward to the News4JAX I-TEAM with allegations of fraud and bad business practices, and it’s been three months since she posted on social media.

Rayvon Griffin is one of those customers. She claims she lost $22,000 investing in White’s services, and she is currently suing.

“You say you’re sorry, but you’re laughing. You’re saying you’re sorry, but at the same time you’re asking for money from the same community you stole from to advertise your services, and you’re in financial trouble.” “This was just an error in judgment,” Griffin said.

On Friday, News4JAX visited the J. White Business Center on Dunn Avenue and found it empty and appeared to be closed, with no one inside. White offered credit repair services there, as well as real estate coaching and an Airbnb investment program.

Mr. Griffin works with Buddy Wilson to hold Mr. White accountable for the money he allegedly stole from them and leads a Facebook group warning others about associating with Mr. White. .

They have records for more than 100 people in and around Jacksonville, but they too say nothing is worth their investment.

“That’s over $1.5 million, and that doesn’t include subsequent losses,” Wilson said.

Wilson is planning a protest with dozens of other victims outside the Duval County Courthouse on March 13 to demand White’s arrest.

“It’s critical that we maintain public pressure and ensure that we are heard. This matter has been reported to local, state and federal authorities for three years,” Wilson said. “We need to exercise our rights and have them be heard and have the situation addressed in a timely manner.”

Ms Griffin said their lives had been ruined in “so many different ways”.

“We are entitled to the compensation we deserve. Give the people their money back,” Griffin said.

JSO received complaints about White and her various businesses. Wilson said at least 50 police reports have been filed.
