Last day of SQSPCA fundraising activities
COOPERSTOWN—At midnight tonight, the end-of-the-year fundraiser on behalf of the Susquehanna Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, “A Promise to Parky,” ends. From November 28th through December 31st, shelter supporters Beth and Gary Glynn will donate an additional $5,000 to her SQSPCA for every $20,000 raised, up to a maximum of $100,000.
“This campaign is our biggest campaign of the year and will make a difference in what services the SQSPCA is able to provide,” said Executive Director Stacey Haynes. “The high quality service we currently provide is only possible with the support of individuals, businesses and foundations in our region who believe in our work and care about the welfare of animals.”
“Thanks to this very generous matching challenge from Mr and Mrs Glynn, if we reach our $100,000 goal we could win an extra $25,000,” added Mr Haynes.
The Glynn Family Matching Challenge “Promise to Parker” is a tribute to Parker, one of the Glynn family’s beloved dachshunds who crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Haynes said the Glynns’ love for animals in general, and dachshunds in particular, was truly special.
“We cannot thank Beth and Gary enough for this generous challenge or their continued support of the SQSPCA and our mission,” Haynes said.
Thanks to generous donors like the Glynns, the SQSPCA now provides monthly spay/neuter and vaccination services to the general public, as well as veterinary services to other animal shelters in the area. doing. The SQSPCA is located at 5082-5088 State Route 28, just north of the Village of Cooperstown.
