SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) – If you want to start your own business but don’t know where to start, LaunchBox can help.
Created by the Greater Sharon Community, LaunchBox is on a mission to serve as a hub for entrepreneurs who need a little help getting started. We are currently accepting applications to join Idea Test Lab in 2024.
During this course, participants will meet with customers, experts, and competitors to clearly define their target customers.
LaunchBox and its programs are important to the community, according to project coordinator Tom Roberts.
“It’s scary to talk to entrepreneurs. They may not have grown up in a family of entrepreneurs. You may have grown up there. But when you start a business from scratch, there’s often no rulebook. Or, there are often rules all over the place. The path isn’t straight,” Roberts said. .
Only a select few will be able to participate in this free course. No affiliation with the university is required to apply, but you must be a Pennsylvania resident. The application deadline is next Tuesday.
“A lot of times people think, oh, I want to start a business right away. They think they have to go out and incorporate and start something. But what they really need is customer discovery. It’s about starting with the parts and actually testing the idea. Do you really have an idea? Is there a problem to solve? Who are the customers who will solve the problem and come to you for help? “Do you really have an idea? Is there a problem to solve? Who are the customers who will solve the problem and come to you?” Roberts said.
Classes will be held virtually on Tuesday nights in February from 6pm to 8pm
