LEEDS — As concerns grow over the predatory lending practices of title loan and payday loan companies and some of the industry’s lenders, one company in Leeds has turned the scenario on its head. Advance America reorganized and relaunched with an entirely new business model.
Advance America no longer offers title loans or payday loans, but now offers regular installment loans at affordable interest rates with flexible payment terms.
Leeds Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Leeds celebrated the reopening with a ribbon cutting on Friday 26th January.
Mayor David Miller cut the ribbon with Leeds area business professionals and chamber executives to celebrate Advance America’s business model transformation.
Candice Turner, Store Manager at Advance America, addressed the crowd and shared more information about the company and what it currently offers.
Mayor Miller offered a few personal words of congratulations on their new business model.
“We are thrilled that you (Advance America Leeds) are reorganizing and staying here in Leeds, and we look forward to working with you again,” Miller said. “Our philosophy is that Leeds is open for business and since we came to office we have brought over 80 new businesses and expansions to Leeds. This is just one example. ”
Mr Miller said the city was focused on being financially sound and a welcoming business environment for companies interested in locating in Leeds.
