Billings, Mont. – This Many places are hosting New Year’s Eve parties over the weekend, but one local business is hosting Billings’ first “dry” New Year’s Eve masquerade ball.
Sacred Grounds Coffee started in a small location in the Heights, but quickly grew in popularity and had to move to a larger facility on King Avenue West in September.
In addition to serving coffee, the facility also offers space for other businesses, including body and mind therapy services and an art studio showcasing the work of local artists and musicians.
The owners decided to host a sober masquerade to show what they prioritize as a business. Damian Forrester says it provides a space for people to feel safe, especially during difficult times.
“They can come here and feel comfortable in an open space and feel alive and have a great time without worrying about alcohol or any demons they might have. “You can do that,” he says. “You can see it’s going to be an enchanted forest themed masquerade ball, with aerial performers walking around on stilts. It’s going to be a great time.”
The masquerade will begin at 8pm on New Year’s Eve in a room known as The Grove, and Forrester hopes attendees will enjoy the atmosphere and music.
