Sidney Sweeney said in a recent interview with GQ UK that starring in Sony’s Madame Web was a “strategic business decision” and that the film was one of the year’s most notorious box office flops. He said that despite his efforts, he was more or less successful. In Sweeney’s eyes, her “Madame Web” led her to join Sony Pictures, where she was able to achieve her huge success with the romantic comedy “Anyone But You.” is.
“For me, that movie was a foundational piece. With a film like this, you can’t control the outcome, especially when I’m not the producer. . Sweeney starred as Julia Cornwall, an iteration of Spider-Woman, in Madame Web. The film sets the stage for future films in which Julia can become a superhero, and when Sweeney was asked about her return to the role, she said: ”

Sweeney’s Madame Web co-star Dakota Johnson told Bustle earlier this month that she wasn’t shocked by the film’s reception.
“Making that movie was definitely a great experience for me,” Johnson said. “I’ve never done anything like that before. I’ll probably never do something like that again because it doesn’t make sense in that world. And I know that now. But this… Sometimes in the industry, you sign on to something and it’s one thing, and then as you’re building it it becomes something completely different and you’re like, “Wait, what?” But it was a really educational experience, and of course it’s not nice to be part of something that’s been torn to shreds, but I can’t say I don’t understand it. ”
“Madame Web” is being shown in theaters nationwide by Sony. Sweeney’s new film, Immaculate, will be released in theaters by Neon on March 22nd.
