KATHMANDU, February 8: Mr. Tilak Prasad Dhital, Chief Financial Officer of digital learning platform MeroSiksha, has been awarded this year’s Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award Nepal.
Navin Timilsina, founder and CEO of Master Sab, was runner-up along with him, while Arjun Ghimire, founder of Dlupload and co-founder of College Tiffin, won his first runner-up title. The winner, Mr. Ditar, received 200,000 rupees, the runner-up, Timilshina, received 50,000 rupees, and the winner, Ghimir, received 25,000 rupees.
A special program to announce the awards was held in the capital on Monday. The final jury included Ayush Nepal, entrepreneur and current president of the Entrepreneurs Organization, and Yasma Rajbhandari, CEO and principal architect of Kalap Architects. Ltd. and Mr. Mushmi Shrestha, Honorary Consul General of Sweden in Nepal and Executive Director of Srinagar Agro Group.
The program attracted 14 student entrepreneurs from all over Nepal, and after tough competition, the top six students made it to the finals. The top six finalists who represent the future of business in Nepal are Anjana Malla, Co-Founder and CEO of Deego Nepal, Tilak Prasad Dhital, Chief Financial Officer of MeroSiksha, Pralisha Adhikari, Co-Founder and CEO of Towerganics Nepal. It was CEO Bibek Dhakal. Navin Timilsena, founder and CEO of Master Sab, founder of College Tiffin, and Arjun Ghimire, founder of Dlupload and co-founder of College Tiffin.
The national winners will advance to the regional finals in India. Tarun Pratap Shah, Chairman of GSEA 2023-24 and Managing Director of DV Group of Companies, said that they can participate in the competition to get an opportunity to represent Nepal at the global level. The final contest winner will receive a cash prize of $50,000.
