(The Center Square) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced the “Star of the North” campaign to attract tourists and hire talent from around the world.

“We are investing in tourism and talent campaigns to promote Minnesota on the world stage as a top state for quality of life, health care and business,” Walz said in a statement. “We also aim to attract skilled workers to support our nation’s leading healthcare, manufacturing and technology sectors. Whether you are visiting as a tourist or looking for work, we are looking to move to There are opportunities for everyone in Minnesota, even if you are.”

A $25 million tourism and talent attraction campaign to promote Minnesota will be funded through Congress over the next two years.
The new campaign includes national ads targeting technology, health and human services, education, and high-tech manufacturing workers.

“With the Star of the North campaign, we are promoting Minnesota’s many attractions to more domestic and international travelers and future residents than ever before,” said Explore Minnesota Executive Director. Lauren Bennett McGinty said in a statement. “Minnesota ranks as one of the healthiest and most livable states in the nation, offering growing opportunities for job seekers and business owners. Unique lush urban areas, sparkling lakes, rich culture, and recreation. With opportunities, this state offers an unparalleled experience for individuals and families.”
Explore Minnesota is a statewide tourism promotion agency. Tourism is an important sector of Minnesota’s economy, employing nearly 275,000 workers.

The new ads will run in 22 states, Washington, D.C., and Canada.
