Orlando, Florida – You should know! A musical based on Alanis Morissette’s best-selling album from the mid-’90s is set to hit the stage in Central Florida later this month.
Jagged Little Pill: The Musical tells the story of an American family from Connecticut with an adopted black daughter.
They begin to unravel when faced with issues of repressed sexual identity, sexual assault, and substance abuse.
The song was inspired by Morissette’s 1995 album, which explored pain, healing, and empowerment.

At the 38th Grammy Awards in 1996, the album “Jagged Little Pill” won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. At 21 years old, Morissette became the youngest artist to win the top honor at that time.
“Jagged Little Pill The Musical” premiered in 2018 and previewed in 2019.
At the 74th Tony Awards, it received the most nominations in the 2019-20 season and won two awards.
The musical is based on the book by Tony Award-winner Diablo Cody (“Juno”), directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus (“Waitress,” “Pippin,” “1776”), and directed by Tony Award-winner Diablo Cody (“Juno”). It also includes award-winning music.
