New Jersey man suspected of leaving explosives at business partner’s home in Westchester County

bedford new york — A New Jersey business owner is accused of making explosives and leaving them in his Westchester County home.

A gas canister rigged to explode with a fireworks tube was found in a driveway in Bedford, New York, on Thursday morning.

The criminal complaint contains shocking details.

The lawsuit accuses Damjan Stanivković of Closter, New Jersey, and an accomplice of installing destructive devices to blackmail business partners.

The box survived the explosion. Inside was a device with Stanivković’s address written on it.

Bedford police contacted the FBI, and investigators searched the Kloster residence and found a book titled “Make Fireworks and Explosives at Home,” as well as other evidence and firearms.

Investigators also used license plate reader data to track the suspect’s travels from Bergen County to Westchester.

The target received a text message that read, “This is your final warning.” Shortly after, a device left in a box in the driveway exploded.

The suspect and the alleged target were involved in a long-running lawsuit.

Fortunately, there were no injuries and there was little damage to property.
