Eagle County recently issued the following press release regarding funding from the Eagle County Lodging Tax Marketing Committee.

February 15, 2024 – Eagle County voters approved a lodging tax for unincorporated Eagle County and the town of Gypsum. 10% of these funds will go towards marketing, communications and engagement that will benefit lodging tax areas.
The Eagle County Lodging Tax Marketing Committee, with support from Eagle County government, is responsible for disbursing and administering these funds to eligible organizations. An application window will open. Applications will be accepted until March 14th. Total funding for this 2024 spending period is expected to be approximately $300,000. The level at which an applicant’s program is funded will be determined based on the merits of the application.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicant organizations must have been in existence for at least three years before applying for funding.
- Applicants must fall into one of the following categories: 501(C)(3 or 6), independently owned for-profit local business, or gypsum municipality.
- The business or non-profit organization must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office and in good standing with Eagle County regarding required permits, licenses, taxes, and fees. A W-9 is required.
A successful project must:
- Focus on tourism, arts and culture, recreational activities, or both.
- Promote sustainability, vitality and good stewardship.
- We provide marketing, communications, and community engagement strategies.
- Applicant organizations and projects should focus as much as possible on the geographic region that collects lodging taxes.
- Funded programs must produce positive, measurable results.
