Now recruiting for the 2024 Sports Media Trainee Program

The World Curling Federation is pleased to accept our curling applications. Sports Media Trainee Program 2024.

The Sports Media Trainee Program is designed to offer young professionals the opportunity to gain valuable practical media experience at international curling events.

Applications are published in two categories:

• communication assistant
• photographer

trainee communication assistant Interview athletes, write feature articles, create social media content, and report on competitions. Photographers will shoot, edit, select, and distribute images for the contest.

The results of both trainees will be published on the World Curling Federation website and social media channels and will be available to member associations and external media.

Entries will be accepted from those who apply. 18-35 years old Must be passionate about sports (by the application deadline) and have a strong interest in writing, social media content creation and photography.

Applicants do not need to have formal education to be eligible for the program.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend one of the following World Curling Federation events.

1. 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship / 2024 World Senior Curling Championship (Ostersund, Sweden) April 20-27
2. Pan Continental Curling Championship 2024 (TBD) October-November
3. Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championship 2024 (TBD)

The World Curling Federation will cover all travel, accommodation and incidental expenses for the trainees.

Expected applicant profile:

• You were born between January 25, 1989 and January 24, 2006.
• The minimum education level is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• You have excellent English comprehension, speaking and writing skills.
• You have a strong interest in sports.
• Ready to travel independently and abroad and work in an international and multicultural environment.
• You are a team player but can also work independently.
• You are ready to work when pressed for time and can prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to receive guidance and feedback from mentors and other members of the team.

The selection committee will apply the following principles wherever possible during the selection process:

Along with the application, photographers must submit a portfolio of 10 sports photographs and state why they chose these photographs.

communication assistant

A communication assistant must perform two tasks:

2. Create a 7-15 second Instagram Reel promoting the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2023 to be held in Gangneung, South Korea from April 22-29, 2023.
