orange county florida – After 10 years in business, a bar serving the Orange County tabletop gaming community is closing for good.
Cloak & Blaster announced its closing plans in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
“This isn’t the first time you’ll read about small business closures, and it won’t be the last,” the post read.
The post cited several reasons for the closure, including rising costs and loss of business due to the change of location.

“Since opening our University of Central Florida location in 2021, food and beverage costs have jumped more than 300%,” the post said.
The company said the move was made because the age of the original location created conditions that were “unsafe for employees and patrons alike.” However, the post said changes at the new location, including a revised menu and updated gaming policies, “were not well received.”

The business also touched on the debt it accumulated during the pandemic.
“Some of these problems can be alleviated by good business, but that is in short supply in the post-pandemic world. Times are tough for everyone. When was the last time a bar was full? I can’t remember the last time there was a waiting list,” the post reads.
The post did not announce an official end date, only that it would be announced later in the week.
“Thank you to the many wonderful staff, volunteers, and patrons who have worked over the years to bring Cloak to life. Thank you for 10 years of unforgettable memories and the honor of a lifetime,” the post said.
